What a Wonderful Time of Year,,,,,

I'm talking about finals of course! Between doing homework, studying for tests, and trying to spend as much time with my family as possible over the holiday I haven't found much time for blogging! I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you scored some fabulous deals on Black Friday! I did most of my shopping online and then went out to Old Navy at about 7 that night! I was able to scratch quite a few people off my list! Thanksgiving day for me was...well how can I put this....STRESSFUL! I cooked dinner for my family for the first time EVER! I was up at 6am cooking! My dressing and pumpkin roll got rave reviews! It was nice to be able to unwind and enjoy the company of family!

Saturday we headed to Nashville, Tn to go to the Opryland Hotel and see the ICE exhibit. If you are ever in Nashville I would definitely recommend you check out this hotel. It is beautiful and HUGE!

Little man at Opryland Hotel

They had it all light up for Christmas and it was gorgeous!
ICE was really cool.  This years theme was Santa Clause is Coming to Town.  They retold the story in hand carved two million pounds of ice!  Everything is made of ice!  There is even an ice slide!  It's so cold in the exhibit you have to wear a parka!  They keep it 9 degrees Fahrenheit and you are in there for a good thirty minutes!  You freeze your booty off but its worth it!!

Little Man loved the ICE slide!

We had a great time and even got in some shopping while in Nashville!  I only have a few more people to buy for!  Well, I guess it's time to get back to studying!  Have a wonderful day!

A week away!!

Well Thanksgiving is a week away! My goal is to blog about something I am thankful for every day for the next week! So here it goes....
First and foremost I am thankful for my family! I am thankful for my son who came into my life on March 11th 2008 at a whopping 9lbs 5oz! He is truly the love of my life and I thank God for him every day!
In labor!

Brand spankin' new!!

I am thankful for my future hubby!  I was 19 when I got pregnant and we weren't married he didn't have to step up to the plate and be a father.  But he did and he's a great one!  I can't wait until I graduate and we get married!

I am also thankful for my Daddy!  I have always been a daddy's girl and I always will be!  My dad raised me as a single father and he did a wonderful job.  I know it wasn't always easy to be a single father to a teenage girl but he toughed it out!

I'm thankful for my mamma!  I don't get to see her as much as I'd like because she lives in another state. But she has always been there for me no matter what I needed and supported me in every decision I have made.

I'm thankful for my Aunt's Joyce & Lola!  If it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to go to school!  They both keep my son for me while I'm in school and when I worked!  They have always shown me unconditional love and they are both second mothers to me!  I will never be able to say "thank you" to them enough for all that they do for me!

I'm thankful for my BFF Brittany at Boots and Pearls  who is truly more of a sister than a friend.  God made us best friends because he knew a mom couldn't handle us as sisters.  We may not be related by blood but she is my sister.

I guess that about wraps up my thankful post for today!

I am very excited to say that I have gotten almost all of my Christmas shopping for Little Man done!  I'm horrible about waiting until the last minute!  I got a shipment from Toys R Us today and I was so excited to open it!  I think he will love his gifts!  This is what came today!
Tonka Bounce Back Racer remote control car!
Talking Sheriff Woody
Nerf Gun!!
Stinky the garbage truck!

Thomas the Train Misty Island Rescue!
I hope you all have a fantastic night!

What a day....

Happy Monday everyone! It has been quite a Monday here! I didn't go to class this morning because I figured my time could be better spent studying for my test tomorrow! Besides they video record our lectures so I can watch it from the comfort of my own home, so it's not like I missed much! Well the soon to be hubby called on his break and said to check the attic because it smelled like burning plastic the morning. Well I opened the attic and it didn't smell like anything burning! Then I heard a loud POP! The freaking stairs broke! So I've been messing with that all morning and still haven't gotten it fixed! I've tried using bungee cord and everything and nothing will keep it closed! I'm hoping future hubby can fix it when he get's home because it's driving me CRAZY!!

We had a pretty laid back weekend this weekend!  Friday night Little Man wanted to spend the night at his grandmothers so the future hubby and I went to see Jackass 3!  I can honestly say that while some parts were disgusting, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!  But I definitely don't recommend it for anyone with a weak stomach!  Saturday we went to pick up Little Man from the future hubby's moms house!  We hung out there for a while and she cooked us supper!
I've been itching to put up my tree for a while now and I finally convinced future hubby to get it out for me on Sunday!  I love our little tree.  It was given to us by a law firm that had used it one Christmas!  You can't complain about a free tree and we were really thankful for it.  But, I have to say I think this will be it's last Christmas in our home!  I like bigger fuller trees, so I think I'm going to find a new one the day after Christmas!

Little Man had a blast helping decorate it this year!

Well our puppy Mac is now ten weeks old and he is growing like a weed!  He is quickly becoming spoiled rotten and of course he and Little Man are best friends!

Well I guess that's about all for this Monday!  It's only a little after 10 and it has been a heck of a Monday already!

Thank you!

Well it is still Veterans Day so first and foremost I would like to say thank you to all the men and women who are serving or have served our country. I really appreciate what you do to keep our country free and safe. My grand father was a veteran of the Korean war, I never met him but I'm sure he would have had some amazing stories!

I had clinical today and it was one of the best I have had yet.  I went into nursing wanting to make a difference in people's lives.  It caught me off guard when a patient made a difference in mine.  My patient today was diagnosed with a disease that will leave them unable to control their voluntary muscles.  They won't even be able to open their eyes.  They will however remain fully aware and mentally competent.  This person loves to travel and to read.  I spent most of my day just talking to them, it was amazing the places they had been.  This patient taught me the most valuable lesson I have had in a long time.  They said "Do what you want to do now, because tomorrow you may not be able to."  This patient's disease will make it impossible to do the things they love.  But they had such a positive outlook on life.  They also said "What does Bill Gates do in the morning?  Whatever he wants to he's the richest man on Earth.  What do I do in the morning?  Whatever I want to.  I'm the richest man on Earth."  They were rich without money.  This patient truly touched my heart and I can honestly say I will never forget them.  I believe God puts people in our lives for a reason.  There was a reason I had that patient today and I pray that he enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed theirs!

All I want for Christmas....

Hello all! I hope your weekend was fabulous! Our weekend was very busy! The future hubby's step sister got married on Saturday and Little Man was the ring bearer! Friday night was rehearsal dinner and the wedding was Saturday afternoon! Little man did a fabulous job walking down the aisle! But about halfway through the ceremony he got a little bored and jumped down the steps and ran to sit with me! He looked very handsome! Of course!

I had a crazy assignment that was due today so I spent the rest of my weekend working on that. Something very exciting happened today! I registered for my last semester of nursing school! I don't know whether to jump for joy or be sad that time passes way too quickly! I think I'll jump for joy that this particular chapter of my life has almost come to an end!

Well Christmas is only 46 days until Christmas and I haven't even began to start shopping! YIKES! I am having to fight back the urge daily to put my Christmas decorations up! It's my favorite time of year! I love to feel the Christmas spirit in the air! Well the future hubby asked me to make out my Christmas wish list and I have no idea what I want/need! So I'm going to put some things here in hopes that he sees it ;)!

A car charger for my iPhone!
Some cute boots!

A stand mixer!
And a cute new purse and new clothes!  That's about it for my Christmas list!  I hope you all had a fantastic Monday!

I think I'm in love!

Well I finally did it!  I finally broke down and got an iPhone!  Seems like everyone has one!  I got the iPhone 4!  I'm in love with it!
I previously had Verizon.  Not only do they not have the iPhone I was paying $100 a month for just myself and I didn't even have a smart phone!  HIGHWAY ROBBERY!  With my iPhone my aunt added me to her AT&T account she already had!  My monthly payment is only $25 plus tax!  Now that's what I'm talking about!

Clinical this week was pretty cool.  I got to push medications through a PEG tube which I had never done before.  In case you don't know what that is it is a tube that goes through the abdomen into the stomach to deliver nutrition and medications to a patient who can't swallow.  This semester the teachers are really awesome about letting us get as much hands on experience as possible!
Today is my Friday and I'm so glad this week has come to an end!  Hope everyone has a great night and Happy Friday!
